UDC Brita Hydration Station

With sustainability at the forefront of many school’s daily operations, it has become a common expectation to everyday student living. Consistently, installations of bottle fillers are providing an initial step towards larger sustainability efforts. And UDC is no exception. Since 2012, University of the District of Columbia has been committed to identifying and encouraging initiatives that will continually develop the campuses efforts to improve its campus sustainability.

Today many of UDC students, faculty and staff use every day the Brita Water system to refill their water bottles. After researching various options including retrofitting drinking fountains, UDC chose the unique Brita® Hydration Station®. Brita provided a flexible product and a name our students recognize and are comfortable with. The University installed Brita® Hydration Station® at 24 locations in 8 of its buildings provide quick, easy access to filtered tap water at no cost to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. UDC is also a member of the Tap It network, working to promote public access to campus drinking water.
